FIVE BASES I’LL NEVER BE WITHOUT All about that base...

I mean I could’ve just said Stila Stay All Day Foundation and been done with it, since it is the best foundation in the world. But with my acne taking a hiatus lately, I’ve found some more lighter coverage options to throw in the mix that are actually pretty damn good.

Stila Stay All Day Foundation + Concealer
Medium to full coverage/satin finish/oil-free cream
I love this foundation for when I need my makeup to last all day because the name is no joke. Stay All Day means what it says. The texture is on the thicker side but it blends out like a dream and doesn’t feel as heavy as you would expect. (FYI the packaging has recently changed THANK GOD and now comes in a pump tub a la Kate Somerville.)
My Shade: Fair 2

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream
Sheer to light coverage/dewy finish/gel-cream
Complexion Rescue is my go to for when my skin is in a good mood. It has natural coverage that can be applied easily with your finger tips and it contains an SPF30 which is great for days of incidental sun exposure.
My Shade: Ginger

Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Ultra Light Skin Perfecting Makeup SPF15
Light to medium coverage/satin and luminous finish/light weight fluid

Vitalumiere Aqua is my perfect amount of coverage. It covers enough if my skin is being moody but light enough for a natural look. The texture of this is very much a fluid and is easy to apply with fingertips. Note it does say it contains SPF but that is UVB only and obviously SPF15 is pointless in makeup. This is not a con to this foundation at all; just wear sunscreen like a smart person.
My Shade: 20 Beige

IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC Cream SPF50+
Medium to full coverage/dewy finish/cream
This CC cream is my all in one; foundation coverage, skincare benefits, physical SPF and enough of it to actually do something. Obviously if I’m spending time in the sun I wear sunscreen as well but this is a good amount for incidental sun exposure. Again this applies great with fingertips. I don’t wear setting powders pretty much ever but with this one its worth a little dusting as it is so creamy and hydrating it can shift a little.
My Shade: Light

The Base by Lara Bingle LB Cream with SPF15
Light coverage/dewy finish/lotion
I took this bad boy to Fiji with me on my honeymoon and boy did it get a work out. It held up great in the humidity and once again I wore it with an SPF underneath. You’re probably sensing a theme here but once again this applies delightfully with fingertips. LB Cream also has priming properties which I think helps with the longevity and I do find it’s longer wearing than my Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue. Tip- my favourite way to use this is by mixing a couple of drops of The Base Skin Illuminator. As well as adding luminosity, Skin Illuminator seems to help LB Cream blend out better.
My Shade: Fair or Beige
