JUNE MAKEUP FAVOURITES

Since transitioning from leaving the house everyday and wearing actual clothes to caretaker of a baby and clad in Bonds tracksuits, my makeup routine has undergone a similar transformation. Gone are the days of doing a full eye look daily, chiselling out my cheekbones and creating a power brow and hello to the age of ‘no makeup makeup’. This change is completely fine with me. My favourite products these days are focused around enhancing the skin, dewy finishes and diffused colour. Since these favourites do change month to month, I thought we would begin a monthly recap.

So, June. June was all about tinted moisturiser and one colour eye looks. I continued my love affair with Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter which I use either by itself or mixed into a foundation to add extra glow. CT describes it as a ‘complexion booster’ and I think that description is spot on. Smashbox Photo Finish Primerizer has also solidified itself in my complexion routine. It’s hydrating, a little bit smoothing but not in a silicone-y way and increases the wear time of my tinted moisturiser. Primerizer feels like a very lightweight, runny lotion and disappears on the skin instantly. Also in the complexion department is a new discovery from Chanel; the Les Beiges tinted moisturiser. I think this may be my All Time Favourite Tinted Moisturiser. It’s the perfect amount of coverage, its glowy but not too greasy and wears incredibly well for a tint. Rounding out my base is my beloved Glossier Stretch Concealer. This is a long time favourite but I’ve been reaching for it more regularly thanks to my ‘mum circles’. Stretch concealer is the perfect amount of coverage for me; it is sheer but I think full coverage concealers look pretty awful on dark circles. This works well to lightly conceal and brighten without making my under eyes look grey.

Since receiving the repackaging (and how bloody cute is it?) of the Too Faced Milk Chocolate Soleil Bronzer, it has become my go to. No shimmer, perfect pale girl shade and smells delicious. Perfect bronzer combination.

I am disgustingly low maintenance when it comes to eye makeup these days but I can’t tear myself away from the glorious Nars Wanted eyeshadow palette. I mean look at it, can you blame me? These shades are so creamy I can apply them with my fingers for a quick wash of colour on the lid. I particularly love doing this with the shimmers. Lancome Monseur Big Waterproof is my new mascara love. I adored the OG Monseur Big but found it a little smudgy; his waterproof counterpart is here to rectify that. Well not yet but it launches July 3 at Mecca Maxima.

Dior Lip Glow (in the OG shade 001) is a long time staple in my collection and I’ve been through three tubes now. This was such a favourite this month, I finished another tube. Lip Glow is a balm that adjusts on your lips to give the perfect shade of pink. This guy is a handbag staple for me as I can throw it on with any makeup look.

What are your favourites for this month?
