It’s the most wonderful time of the year; the Sephora sale. I’m sure the internet has made you painfully aware that May 6th and 7th play host to the best discount you’ll get on Sephora brands all year. If you’re a Gold Beauty Pass member you receive 20% from May 5th-7th, if you’re a Black member you also get 20% from 6th-7th and if you’re a White member (basically you’ve given Sephora your email) you receive 15% off from 6th-7th. So let’s get into my Sephora favourites and maybe a cheeky wishlist.
NUDESTIX EVERYTHING. That’s it basically. We know my love for Nudestix runs deep and it is without a doubt my number one recommendation. Especially since they had a massive price increase here recently, I can only assume because of the plummeting dollar. So to narrow things down, check out Tinted Cover Foundation, Nudies Matte in Sunkissed, Sunset Strip, Naughty ‘N’ Spice and Beachy Babe, Nudies Glow in Hey, Honey and Bubbly Bebe and Nudies Bloom in Poppy Girl.
FENTY BEAUTY Cheeks Out cream products have rocked my world recently. They’ve really upped the cream blush and bronzer game and are so worth a look in. Obviously take a squiz at a bronzer in a complexion appropriate shade for you (I wear Butta Biscuit) and my blush picks are Petal Poppin, Summertime Wine and Strawberry Drip. The Gloss Bomb lip glosses are also worth a look in, my personal fave is the original Fenty Glow.
PAT MCGRATH LABS Lip Fetish Lip Balm is such a luxurious purchase and one I would definitely love 20% off of. I have the shade Passion Flower, a beautiful sheer coral. They are so moisturising and somehow long wearing for a balm. While we’re on PML, also take a little look at her eyeshadows. I have a couple of singles that I adore; the formula is so smooth and a dream to blend, it’s hard to believe they’re powders. I have the shade Statuesque which is an easy everyday neutral brown and Rose Venus, a stunning shimmery burnt rose.
BEAUTYBLENDER are not just about… BeautyBlenders… They do magnificent foundation. Magnificent. Their Bounce liquid foundation is my holy grail, number one, bury me with it foundation. It’s a flawless medium to full cover with a natural satin finish that will please dewy and matte lovers alike. The wear time is unparalleled. The packaging is also excellent for those of us that hate working foundation off the back of our hands.
IT COSMETICS Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream is possibly one of my most repeated purchases ever. It’s full coverage but doesn’t feel it, dewy but stays put and makes my skin absolutely glow. It makes everything look smooth, shiny and new and the best news is, although there is room for improvement, the shade range has dramatically expanded lately. There is good reason this product is a cult favourite.
DIOR Lip Glow is my other most repeated purchase ever. I just finished another tube of this heaven sent balm. It uses ‘Colour Reviver’ technology to react to the unique chemistry of your lips and produce a custom colour. It gives an almost lit from within, juicy, my lips naturally look like this tint and is incredibly moisturising. I always buy the OG shade 001 Pink but there is a whole selection of shades now.
LANIEGE does some seriously unrated skincare that is worth checking out. One of my favourite essences is their Cream Skin Toner & Moisturiser. It’s a deceivingly thin watery texture that gives my skin a huge drink of water leaving it plump, happy and ready to receive skincare. Their Water Bank range is excellent for dehydrated (everyone) skin and I’m currently really enjoying the Hydro Gel Moisturiser and Hydro Essence. Of course there is also their legendary and definitely not underrated Lip Sleeping Mask. This is a particularly good buy this time of year, coming into the colder weather. My favourite scent is unsurprisingly Vanilla.
PETER THOMAS ROTH is your go to if you’re all about that masking life right now. I’m a huge fan of 24K Gold Hydra-Gel Eye Patches, a little shot of coffee for your eyes in the morning. For some face masking I recommend Pumpkin Enzyme Mask for some enzymatic exfoliation and brightening and Irish Moor Mud Mask for decongesting and smoothing. I also love the Skin To Die For Redness-Reducing Treatment Face Primer. As the name spells out, this tube of green magic simultaneously cancels out redness while prepping the skin for makeup and dosing your skin up on anti-inflammatory ingredients.
FOREO Luna 3 is one of my most used skincare products; I use it every single night. I find it incredibly gentle but effective in my efforts to keep breakouts at bay. Another device I adore using is the UFO which combines sheet masking with LED therapy and heating and cooling. Speaking of which, if you’re already a UFO user make sure you take advantage of this discount to stock up on masks!
ULTRA VIOLETTE obviously! The Queen (quite literally) of suncreen. This is the ultimate sunscreen range if you hate sunscreen and are convinced that it’s not for you. Which is nonsense by the way. My preference is the Queen Screen Luminising Sun Serum and Supreme Screen Hydrating Facial Skinscreen but if you’re a sensitive babe, have a squiz at Clean Screen. Oh and they’re Australia born and bred, right here in Melbourne actually.
YOUTH TO THE PEOPLE is a range I’ve only dabbled in but what I have dabbled has been mention worthy. The Adaptogen Deep Moisture Cream is an irritated, dry and sensitive skin’s dream with it’s lush texture and impressive lineup of anti-inflammatories. Similarly, Adaptogen Soothe + Hydrate Activated Mist delivers anti-oxidant rich adaptogens and pentapeptides to prevent water loss all in an ultra fine mist. She’s a pricey mist but one worth having a look at when a discount is on the table.
LANOLIPS is another case of just everything basically. Sephora doesn’t stock the whole range but I adore the skincare collection, especially the cleanser which is the perfect gel cleanse in my not at all humble opinion. Everyone needs an OG 101 Ointment and the Lip Water is also a lush lip treat that hydrates but adds a cute little shine to the lips in a gloss/balm hybrid kind of way.
HAIR & FRAGRANCE
OUAI is killing the game in both of these categories. I have strong feelings for their North Bondi fragrance; a fresh blend of bergamot, Italian lemon, rose de mai, violet and musk. Light and floral but simultaneously powdery. Hair wise I’m a big fan of their Wave Spray which gives this beach hater perfect beachy waves without having to step foot on the sand. I love their Finishing Creme which gives me cool girl hair and tames my frizz.
IGK do the best dry shampoo of all time. I said it, no take backs. First Class Dry Shampoo is made with charcoal and truly refreshes the hair and allows me to push out washes by days.It also comes in two sizes if you don’t want to over commit or you’re already a fan and want a travel size (not sure what you’d want that for but anyway). I wasn’t a dry shampoo believer until I tried this. It’s that good.
SLIP pillowcases fall under the hair category because they are a REVOLUTION for my hair. They minimise breakage, reduce frizz and are just kinder to my hair than cotton. They also don’t absorb skincare the way cotton does and reduce wrinkles and irritation. I have about four in rotation and I love that I can wash them in the washing machine (on delicate cycle of course). I also love a sleeping mask but am super picky about which ones I put on my face so the Slip Sleep Masks are a no brainer.
