Dermalist is a new Aussie kid on the block that has started with a targeted four piece range (there’s also a cleansing brush). They are an active, cosmeceutical range that is free of all the usual suspects- SLS, silicones, PEGs, synthetic fragrance, Parabens. They are also vegan and cruelty free.
Obviously the packaging is super sleek but its also super functional. It looks great in the bathroom and it’s minimal design isn’t intimidating to skincare newbies. I will say, gravity got the best of my cleanser in the shower and the top of the bottle broke so the lid isn’t secured. Not in any way a product fault, just don’t be an idiot like me and keep it up high in the shower only to knock it down.
Onto the products themselves. Ultra Hydrating Lactic Cleanser is a silky texture that lightly lathers and uses lactic and mandelic acids to gently remove dead skin and smooth the skin. I really enjoy this. It’s just the right amount of exfoliating to be able to use it daily and doesn’t dry my skin. I feel like it helps keep breakouts in check and is great after a day of full makeup.
Ultra Smoothing Facial Exfoliant is an exfoliating wizard. This gem exfoliates with a natural biodegradable bead, four AHAs (lactic, citric, mandelic and glycolic) and pomegranate enzyme. It’s a creamy texture that easily spreads on the skin and doesn’t rather. I use this twice a week and I love how it makes my skin feel. It causes no irritation or dryness for me.
Lastly we’ve got the Allserum Skin Perfector. This is Dermalist’s all in one serum designed for every skin type. The key players (and I mean key, they’re first up after water) are niacinamide, squalane, vitamin c, lactic Acid and Hyaluronic Acid. It claims to soften fine lines, reduce pore size, boost hydration, increase radiance, reduce dark spots and breakouts and protect against pollution. I use this in the mornings and it incredibly hydrating. It makes my skin feel super soft and somehow makes my skin look smoother and more even. I can’t speak to it’s effect on lines but I feel it’s made a difference in evening out my skin. This serum seems to work in harmony with the exfoliating benefits of its cleanser and exfoliant counterparts.
Dermalist is a real contender in the cosmeceutical scene. Starting with a small collection shows thought and intention in the products which I really respect. You can shop the brand here.
